GDF SUEZ Energy Resources (GSERNA) - Historical Data App, Mobile/Smartphone App
 
Objective:
Our client provides electricity to businesses that use over 1MW of monthly peak demand electricity. They came to us to promote some new features on their website. During this process, we realized one website feature – the Historical Data feature – would translate well into an iPhone® app. Our objective was to develop and maintain a smartphone app that would help keep customers up to date on the latest industry trends and reinforce the company’s thought leadership position.
 
Strategy:
GSERNA’s is positioned as an educator, helping customers to make better energy decisions. Similarly, they believe that to understand the decision economics behind purchasing electricity for a business or institution, it’s important to have an overview of commodity prices. The app needed to connect GDF SUEZ with customers in a very relevant way.
 
Implementation:
The app gives real-time updates, offering customers the ability to follow daily, weekly and monthly market trends specific to a customer’s territory or region. The app aligns with the historical data featured on the GDF SUEZ corporate website. The complimentary app is a tool customers can use, on behalf of GSERNA, to better prepare for the future.
 
Results:
GSERNA is always looking to develop new resources to educate current and prospective customers. The Historical Data app has proven to be a useful one amongst customers, and it helps to keep GSERNA on the technological forefront. GSERNA leaders and sales representatives have been pleased with the success and capabilities of the new Historical Data app.

Strategy:
The app gives real-time updates, offering customers the ability to follow daily, weekly and monthly market trends. Our client positions themselves as a source of transparency and industry education, so it was important to make this app easy to understand and accessible to all customers. That’s why starting with an instructional video was useful as a way to break down everything the app has to offer.
 
Implementation:
A short video was made giving an overview of the Historical Data app’s features, along with steps to download the app. The video uses engaging animation and clear language to translate content that could seem complicated to the average customer. Using GSERNA’s bright and welcoming look and feel, the message and tone aligned perfectly with the client’s brand.
 
Results:
GSERNA is always looking to develop new resources to educate current and prospective customers. The Historical Data app has proven to be a useful one amongst customers, and it helps to keep GSERNA on the technological forefront. GSERNA has received positive feedback on the app’s usability and ability to download—and technical issues have been at a minimum.
